Silly Question about my 2011HHR

On chevrolet's website when you build a 2011

HHR.. it says 4 Spd Auto. Mine has a 3 spd

P R D I L no 4th. . . or OD... is that odd or normal

and Chevrolet.. is wrong on the website.

Just wondered... get great gas mileage using my

HHR for news paper delivery. .. . . . .

2.4 2LT

You have 4 speeds...... check the manual about what L, I, and D, stand for and how the transmission reacts/changes gears. They are all that way.

Many of todays cars will start in second gear when you pull them down. It is to make it eaiser to pull out in slippery conditions.

All HHR's were 4 speed autos and one of the last 4 speed autos GM offered along with the Cobalt.

Just do what many here never did. Read the owners manual. You would be suprised what you might learn.

Even old gear heads like me found out you can contol the warning tone with the radio. Yes you can turn it down.

It's ashame they never offered a 6-speed auto in the HHR, like in the Malibu. I guess they knew they were killing it off anyway, so why bother.

Where the 4 speed may lack in some flexiblity, it is well proven, responsive, reliable, and smooth shifting. How often do you read about someone having trouble with these?--rarely.
