Clay will work until they etch deep into the glass.

Hense the term lubricant.....You've got to keep it wet. Basically a clay bar is equivilent to 3,000 grit sandpaper. Maybe I didn't make my point clear enough above. Use it to remove the spots and then take steps to prevent the spots from coming back which many have been mentioned in this thread.

I noticed a product in Checker (Kragen and something else, in other parts of the country). That explicitely said it removed water/mineral spots, as well as other materials from the windows/winshield. Can't remember the name . But you applied it to a wet window and rubbed the CREAM in. Guaranteed.

I have something by Rain X that sounds like what you are talking about Snoop...wait 1..I'll go look.............................................. .ok that is what it is ..Rain X Glass Polish...I bought this years ago...says it is :

"Professional strength cleaning compound designed to remove excessive build up of tar, road grime, bug residue, wax, silicone, oils and mineral deposits on glass or chrome"

Need to flush surface with water and with a wet cloth apply in a circular motion until it starts to dry...rinse with water until residue free

This stuff does work!

dats what the buddies up on the other posts said...

the kinds of spots are the hard water or mineral spots..hell ive even tried to run a razor blade across my windshield, kind of like when you remove the inspection or liscence stickers and doesnt work....

when it rains or drizzle, you can see the spots left behind when you turn on the wipers to wipe the window
