Steering Wheel Emblem

Does anyone know how to remove the Chevy emblem in the steering wheel? Mine is dented and I would like to remove it to get the dent out. It looks really bad. Is it glued in?

Dealer and service department can't answer that one - check out my gallery pics to see a possible alternative. "SS" Mike

You can pry it off, carefully, with a very small screwdriver. You will definately want to put something else there or get a replacement because there are slots if i recall which are very visible once its off. It is also domed under it so it make it difficult to replace it with something flat.

Hope this helps.

Let me guess.....somebody cut you off and you laid on the horn a little too hard!!??

Yes, I speak from experience, but not on my HHR.

I would like to reuse the same one if I could get it off without destroying it. I thought I could just pop the dent out and replace it.

You can pry it off or you can just remove the horn button. The 3 spoke portion that the center piece is attached to. Disconnect your horn first.

See ya down the road

Had a dent in mine too, took mine off... Bad idea, it is really flimsy. I did more damage taking the damn thing off.

Called a local dealer, its a part of the air bag and does NOT come separately. DAMN! So now, I am looking for a replacement something to put in there. Its got to be very close in circumference to the original to cover the slots.

Anyone have suggestions???

HELP!
