My new SS came with those stick on chrome vents. What do you think, I don't know if they will leave a mark if I take them off. Any opinions??

 

Some like them, some don't. Personally I'd remove them.

 

I personally am not a fan of these. What's worse is that a lot of kids put them on junky cars so any coolness that they used to evoke is not a thing anymore.

 

I'd remove them.

They should be attached with 3M emblem tape. Some fishing line and a little elbow grease, shouldn't be any finish damage.

I use dental floss , you didn’t buy a Buick !
lose them ! Some rubbing alcohol helps loosen the 3M tape
Do Not use any plastic scrapers or even a credit card! They will leave a mark in the paint.

That's funny, I remember my dad had an old buick roadmaster with 4 ports.

Yeah, I'm with yah..they do look a little stupid.

I had a 48 Buick with the portals, I removed them a sold them at the local hot rod flea market, I welded in filler plates , re painted the car and sold it , all that work and I bored with it.
I’ve never liked those things since! Harley Earl musta had a bad sense of humour!

 

Didn't 3 ports indicate 6 cylinders and 4 ports for V8? Seems I recall some other GM cars with them?

 

The 48 had a straight 8 , I don’t recall how many holes it had .

The 49 Buick Super had 3 per side the Roadmaster had 4, on the fenders.

Mine musta been a 49, the 48 had the side flip hood and the release handles were in the side of the huge hood.
