sticky lock actuator

sticky lock actuator
Has anyone had a problem with the automatic lock actuator? My driver's door is sticking, and I am wondering how difficult it is to replace, or is there a fix?
Lubrication, etc?
I do not want it to quit altogether, as I don't want to crawl out the passenger's side.
Thanks in advance for any help.

There have been many posts that mention that same problem. The general opinion is it's not the actuator but the rod or knob that binds. If you can hear it try to work when you push the fob, then the actuator is probably OK.
Some have ground out the hole where the rod comes through. Some have changed knobs to a skinnier one. Some have sprayed lube down the rod hole.
My personal fix: Move the knob up and down by hand 20-30 times. It seems to free it up. I only had an issue with it at 1 year old. Did the up and down fix and been trouble free for 2 years.

My passenger side door lock was doing this, so we took the door panel off and found two things. 1st problem-The hole in the door panel where the lock comes through had a huge burr on it, we used a round file on it and enlarged the hole slightly. The second problem was actually the factory sound deadener board, It was putting a lot of pressure on the side of the rod. We cut a tiny slit over the rod, and it relieved the pressure on the rod.
Problem fixed, 2 months and counting!!
