Stock horn replacement

Anyone know of a direct plug in replacement for the stock single
horn that would result in a better sounding dual note horn(s)?

Trying to avoid having to cut and splice the factory plug if possible.
Looking at the plug itself, it looks like GM has both Pos & Neg being supplied to the stock horn via the plug instead of using a common ground to the frame type for the neg.

Thanks....

There are no direct fit duel hornes for the HHR. GM used a plug in that is not like the aftermarket kind. Also you only have one connector so the hors say frim a Malibu would also need wired in.

I just bought a set of Hella Duel horns and used the GM approved crimp butt end connectors. THey seal up with heat and prevent any wire issues.

I was able to use the original bracket and bolt both horns to it. So other than cutting two wires I was able to up grade to a due factory horn shound for less than $30.

I also left a little slack in the wires so that I could pull them out to work on them out of the wheel well. I just coiled them up and wire tied them in side so they would be out of the way.

It is very easy to do.

As for the load horns here you would get a bulitt hole to go with

Thanks for the info.....

Got a set of Fiamm # 74100 El Grande horns from Amazon.com for
$25.00. They came with everything you need with the exception of
a bolt and nut to fasten the two horns together. I too was able to use GM's
bracket to mount the new horns to the frame in the same spot as the factory single horn was.

They supply a new relay but it was not needed and, since the Fiamm's draw
less then 10amps and this is what GM put in for that circuit, the only additional hardware I needed was a jumper wire to tie the two horns together.

What a difference....not quite the "umph" that the guy had in the youtube
video (which was fantastic by the way) but....far better then the anorexic at best factory horn.

Hardest part of the whole deal was positioning the new horns with one hand and trying the get the bolt started to secure them with that same hand.

I would post a pic of the finished product but I'm not a premium member yet.

Is it a deep Caddyesq horn or a fairly normal two tone? I had a 3 tone air horn with compressor on my pickup truck in high school. $30 from AutoZone and had it installed in 30 min. Sounded like a Italian exotic. I'll proabably be looking into some horns at some point b/c the factory horn is WEAK!

10-4 on the factory horn being week. Almost to the point of being embarrassing . For what they charge for these vehicles, you'd think they could at least put in a decent horn(s).

They are two tone....one high, one low....big difference ...and as always, after I buy them, Amazon now has 'em for 5 bucks less @ $19.95, story of my life....(:

And, if you spend $5 more,(something I never seem to have a problem doing there) they come with free shipping.

Then it's not really $5 cheaper.... you just spend it on something else...... Funny how that works.......
