STS Turbo

Airborne....
Was looking for a date on that article. Not sure, but it may be an old one. A couple of "trigger" statements sound familar.....still having trouble tuning, and on the track, turbo and regular ran about the same times.
Also they talked about prepping for the 2005 SEMA show. That was a year ago. Can you find a date for the article???

Yep, - that's a ooooold article! I read it nearly a year ago. STS stilll doesn't have a turn-key kit for the HHR either. We keep contacting them, and are at the top of the list to be notified as soon as it is completed.
Here's a very important excerpt fom that article:
"The rear-mount single-turbo system ($3995) looks great, but, at test time, STS's final calibration wasn't finished, so driveability and power suffered. On STS's chassis dyno, the system boosts output of the HHR's 143-horse, 2.2-liter Ecotec DOHC I-4 by 71 ponies--all while reducing emissions, according to STS. But, at the test track, the boosted STS HHR ran nearly the same acceleration times as a stock version."
Part of the problem with track times (vs. stock), is that a) they were running much larger/heavier wheels on the Darkside HHR, (more rotating mass makes for slower accelerarion times);
...and b) heres what was in the back:
Additionally, the Darkside car weighs 415lbs more than a stock HHR, so there's some of the difference as well.
Hang in there for a turbo kit....it's coming eventually!
