Sun visors

Are these bad about the mounting screws breaking thru the visor flange?

When overtightened, yes.
And it doesn't take much to do.

New problem...suggestions please

Ok....I managed to get a fix for the holes busted out in my sun visor but now i have a new problem. Where this visor pivots on the mounting base/flange....it is so tight it makes a terrible noise when you rotate it to the door window. I am afraid its going to break it. I have tried silicon spray, paraffin wax....same thing. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
Is this a know problem or am i just lucky like that? Lol

Try loosening the mounting base screws.
Just a little and recheck.
You may have introduced a binding.

I don’t move my sun visors. So, I don’t have them drooping or making noise or anything like that.
I would think take the noisy one down and try a penetrating oil , just a few drops, let gravity do the work ,to get down the visors pivot shaft and lubricate it.

i can barely turn it with it off the car, holding the base with leather glove on my hand ( to keep it from cutting my hand). Not thinking thats it...good guess though

Paraffin wax, great for preserves and candles, but not so great for metal to metal, or hot interior parts in cars.
