Back on topic, I've always liked T-tops. I just can't picture them looking good on an HHR

T ops would take a lot of work and add a lot of weight. The Unibody of this car was never designed for it and while a nice idea not a very good one based on the structure we have.

I have a T top car now and even with a hefty frame work it has a lot of flex.

You think you have rattles now just imagine if you took stucture away from the unibody. Besides it would not likely pass the crash test standards today if GM had built one. Convertibles are covered under a different set of rules.

Aah, I didn't notice that. I can see how it would get on your nerves. "Now watch me make this shot.."

You would need a full chassis to do that....... but that is a cool ice cream truck.

not really related, but sort of

a friend of mine bought a dirt cheap old malibu

just as a beater, he wanted a convertible, so he sawzalled the roof off!

it was a fun car to drive in, just dont get caught in the rain

im also sure that completely weakened the car though, he also painted it many colors and had anyone write on it with a marker or spray paint

he called it 'the box'

I don't think you would. There are plenty of uni-body convertibles around.
