Teardrop Trailer

Anyone out there have a teardrop trailer?

How nice would it look color-matched to the car?

The manual reads "Do not tow more than 1,000 miles (1 600 km)
per year."

Probably a ruse to limit the rate of wear accumulation on the vehicle to keep the warranty. Funny thing is that if you buy a Vauxhall/Opel Vectra in Europe, which has the 2.2 Ecotec engine and the same Getrag F23 transmission, it can tow 1500kg (3300lbs), but you aren't supposed to tow anything with the manual trans here.

I'd rather have one of these: http://www.chaletrv.com/

At least you could stand up in it. The LTW model specs show the dry weight at a little over 1000 lbs. Not as cool looking but more practical.

Gee in my book it states only tow with an auto, and the total wt should be no more that 1000 lbs. That includes what is in the HHR. The least amount of a Tear Drop I have found it 920 lbs. Still to much to pull.

Not sure why the 1000 mile limit, but chassis strength and liability may be the biggest reasons for the limits we have Vs Europe.

I had an original tear drop trailer for my Hotrod about 20 years ago. It was cool. Wife said that there were perfectly good hotels every place we went so why use a trailer.... I sold it.... Mistake, should have traded in the wife instead.......

If a PT Cruiser can do it, an HHR can do it for sure

I am thinking of gettting a "little Guy" silver series. HAte to put a hitch on the HHR but the overall rig will be cool.
