Thank you for the responses. Sounds like this might be a good move for me. I will contact my favorite dealership and begin exploring my possibilities. Now if I can just pick a color.... Didn't I read about someone getting 0% interest through GMAC?

I bought my 1LT with the 2.2 automatic and have driven it through six states and 52,000 miles and have had no issues, it rolls around 75-85 mph without a problem and at 31-32 mpg...

Welcome and I was the one that got 0% thought GMAC but I'm in Canada so not sure what the US has right now for promos.

So the HHR gas mileage claims are definitely appealing to me ( not to mention the really cool style). Having driven several vehicles that had plenty of power ( 2 suburbans, a tahoe, a trailblazer and the current pickup ) I wonder about the HHR in my situation. I have seen several comments about it being perfect for the urban driver and commuting, but not much about highway performance.
This is a major decision because I will be trading an upside-down vehicle and will have to be willing to keep the HHR for a very long time.
I have been very impressed with the abundance of information on this board, but most of all with the politeness of the members.
Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the site. The HHR is a great vehicle all around.
I would go with the 2.4 engine. Plenty of power when needed, plus there are things you can do to it for more performance without breaking your bank account.
A sway bar will also help on those windy days if you are on the open road alot.
Good luck and let us know what you decide on.

I'm not certain if 0% financing is still available but go to http://www.gmacfs.com/us/en/index.html to prequalify. The only problem is you have to chose a dealer to send the financing info to. You can shop online also. Chevrolet.com will let you check the inventory of every dealer near you.
