The 2 things that I had to have on the HHR...leather interior and the sun roof. Have both and would do the same again!

After market

I had mine installed after I bought my HHR. 457 dollars installed. Manual pop up but I still love it.

Do ya love it? Have any issues with it? Do ya wish you had NOT gotten it?
Maybe you feel totally ambivalent and never use it.
When I order an HHR next year it would be good to have some feedback.
I test drove a Spring Edition that had one... it looked like a very nice option!

BTW, I did a search and did not find a specific sunroof thread on here...
Would not buy a vehicle without it.
On the HHR, I think it gives you more of an "open" feeling.

The HHR we took for a test drive had a sunroof. We really enjoyed using it on the test drive, but it also cut into the headroom for me. The only thing I can think of is that because I need my seatback in the "proper posture" setting.

A sunroof also added over $1,000 to the price, so we opted for an HHR without a sunroof. If money wasn't an issue at the time (we had carryover costs from our car lease) or we had waited another 6 months and got a 2007 HHR, we probably would have gotten a sunroof.

The only thing I wonder about is long term ownership issues once the warranty is gone (i.e. leaks, slider failures, etc)

We love our sunroof but at hiway speeds with it open all the way ( not just vented) it cuases a deep THUD THUD THUD THUD sound as the air comes into the car, It seems like the little pop up mesh air deflector lets a little air pass through and makes this sound. I've seen someone on this site with an aftermarket sunroof air deflector That I'm sure would slove this problem. I still use mine alot, but that sound just gets to me some times.
I would, for sure, buy WITH the sunroof again,if I got another one.

We've got 15,000+ and 26,000+ on our two and haven't had any issues with either.

Yeah, that is probably a good thought. Probably the same longevity as the power windows.

GM, for a number of years, has had questionable power windows. Generally after about 2-5 years the motor, "tapes", an/or drive mechanisms go bad. However, the extremely hot weather here in Arizona may contribute to that. Seems like, after about 3 years, I have a power window repair on one of the windows, in succession, each year.

Funny this should come up. I never had any problems with my sunroof, until yesterday. It rained pretty hard the night before, and in the morning when I hit the gas, water came from the roof. (I never keep the inner panal closed).
I felt inside and there was some water there. I checked and the sunroof was fully closed. Dont know what happened nor if it will happen again. I should sit in the car and have my son spray it with the hose.

Air deflector

I am thinking of getting an after market vent shade type air deflector for my sun roof. Any one have any comments?
