Cool I had my HHR 15 hours before tinting the front windows

I had my HHR for a total of 15 hours before having the front windows tinted. It looks sooooo much better with a uniform tint. Post pics when I have some!

Got you beat. My HHR pretty much went from the dealership to the tint shop, with a short trip home first.

I just had mine tinted to match the back. I believe the shop said it was 20%. The question about that black rubber strip.....I watched them, and they took it off to get the tint all the way down and then put it back on. Scared me to death when I saw it. I like the look of all tinted windows. By the way, I never realized there was so many different tints to choose.

Had mine done this week. the shop called mine 15%. Matched the back almost perfectly.

And yes in Missouri that is past the legal limit. This shop has done all of my cars and trucks. The way they cover there a$$ is by telling the client that it is illegal.

I have been told though that the H.P. has told inspection stations to stop failing for being too dark. Yeah they used to fail cars for the safety inspection if the windows were too dark!

The only thing they won't do is gold and mirror finish.

well I got my windows finished. Thanks again Dave. The tip about pulling the weather stripping made it much easier. The only thing is the new tint doesn't match the old so it will have to be temporary.I just wish I realized it before I got it on.I think it gives the illusion that it isn't as dark as the back even know everything is now limo dark.

I really wanted to do the gradient two tone tint on my HHR. Mirror reflective to black. My local tint shop recommended against it because when applied over the factory tint, the desired look could not be achieved. I hope this helps anyone who may have been thinking of the gradient as I did.

Mine said something similar.

I wanted to go darker on the back but they said that it wouldn't be very noticable. If I insisted that would have taken the $$ though.

It was cool that they told me though before they did what I told them to do.

Why couldn't you go darker? I added 15% over the factory 20% for a final transparency of 5%..I think thats how it works..Anyway its darker now..
