Tire Pressure light

At what pressure does it come on?I searched and couldn't find a topic about it My wife called me and said hers is on at 26psi right now with the light on. It was pretty cold last night so i figured the pressure lowered some because of that.

it varies some times mine comes on at 27 but other times hasnt come on till 24. as long as the tires are all about the same pressure it probably wont come on till it gets pretty low.

Don't forget that your tires are supposed to be at the stipulated pressure when cold. ("Cold" is defined in the owners manual.)T hat means you will find you have to pump them up as winter sets in.... and let air out as summer creeps back.

There is no set value for the light to come on. The repair manual states when the TPM system detects a significant loss, or gain of tire pressure, the tire pressure monitor indicator icon is illuminated on the IPC.

What is the definition of cold? Is it just having not driven the car for several hours?
This time of year the mornings can be in the 20's and it can get into the 60's during the day.
I was running my tires a littler higher than recommended (35psi cold) but I saw 29PSI this morning before I starting moving. Didn't take long to get back up to mid 30's.... Makes me wonder if the nitrogen isn't a good idea?

Thx ChvyMgr.

Has anyone ever tried the nitrogen thing?
Does it really keep a constant pressure, or just change less with heat?

Also, since the manufacture is assuming pressure will increase with driving, what pressure would you fill them to?

Is this just a gimmick?
