The forward-most cup holder is fine; I've got long arms...

C'mon. Those cupholders are fine. I just wish GM had included some for the front seats as well!

Cupholders in the door map pocket (like the Landrover Freelander) would solve all these issues IMHO.

I use the front-most cupholder without complaint, but the passengers are kinda a juggle of arms.

me too. I have a dual-cup holder that slides between the passenger seat and the console...it sits right on top of the parking brake handle.

It holds my qwap but wouldnt hold a cup over 4" tall...but it freed up my cup holders...

every afternoon on my way from one job to the other, I stop for a Starbucks...I carefully rotate my wrist, and delicately place it in the forward cup holder. I then drive with one hand on the cup, and the other on the steering wheel.

what GM did with the cup holder issue is a joke....on us.

But, I dont dwell on it...I applaud the other perks they DID build in to the HHR, and forgive them for the cup holder debacle.

Don't feel too bad about our cupholders, at least they are deep enough. Chevy actually had a redesign on the 06 Impala cup holders, had to make them an inch deeper. You'ld put your cup in, and the first right turn you made, you got a lap full of hot coffee. At least ours are low enough to just spill on the floor.
