I did a trip with my 2.2 last month, towed my teardrop and gear. Came in at 1100 lbs with us. Went 3000 miles ,and lots of passes. The highest at 9930 feet. Now my rig is an auto...but I had no problems towing at all. I think the weight limit might be for the wimpy frame that the hitch bolts to. I wouldn't hesitate to tow with a standard, just gentle on the clutch but don't feather it.

I'm fearing towing with it less and less. I'll also need to tow a 600 pound motorcycle and the proper trailer behind it at times as well, so towing is something that this thing will probably not avoid.

I'd rather ride a bike than tow it, but you never know when it becomes necessary to have both car and bike with you. #bikerlife

I drove 1000 miles with my HHR pulling a jetski trailer and 2 jetskis (standup size about 380-400 a piece) plus trailer. No issues at all.

My 800lb bike tows a tent trailer with a 400 lb running axle weight, and ~60-70 lb tongue weight. A tent on the ground would not make wife happy.

Thankfully I don't have a "wifey" to worry about yet. Call me selfish, but I want to play with my toys first before I have to give them up for family life

I used to ride everywhere, but as age and abuse of my body catches up to me,I can not ride more than 200 miles before my body says no way dude.So towing long distance is not an option but a necessity,or else I would never get anywhere

What kind of trailer do you have? I am starting to look for something.
