Just did a search on DirecTV and only two episodes upcoming on the 13th & 14th of March, both say they are about ZZ Top's Cadzilla.

Taken from TLC's website:

Rides joins with GM to unveil the HHR, a new car whose first look is at the Detroit Auto Show. Four different HHRs are rebuilt by four top designers, each using different build teams and offering their own take on this mysterious new ride.

I don't know which is correct. The DirecTV listing here for those time slots is "My Shocking Story".

Our DirecTivo shows the "Rides" episode on 3/6 (7pm EST) and 3/7 (2am EST) as the one about the HHR. If it is, I will definitely be archiving that recording.

You never know, they have changed it a couple times in the last month. However, I ordered the DVD and received it today, so Im ok either way. Its as much about the builders as it is about the HHR, not as technical as shows like overhaulin or even american chopper. Still, good inspiration and you can see what a big budget can get you.

Hmmm.

I personally would prefer a special on the making of a stock HHR - i.e. show them being assembled at the factory.
"Hands On History" did a great episode on Motorcycles - they showed a Goldwing being built start to finish
at the Marysville plant right here in Ohio.
(ok - yeah, I am 'slightly' biased since I own a 'wing)

It's a shame they did not allow the performance builds to strut their stuff.

I enjoyed the HHR build off once again, however this time I acually had one in the driveway so it offered a different perspective to me. I believe this was filmed before the original release date for the HHR. That being said it is amazing how many of the mods became factory options since then. For ex: panel version, AA5 panel, shaved door handles and turbo to mention a few. It was probably my 4th time I have watched the show and I could watch it again too.

I would have liked to see a few smokey burnout's with the V8 HHR's.

So when do we get the kit from Year One for a V8 conversion? That is NASTY!

Yep, the V8 would be my first choice, but only if I could afford to send it to a reputable hot rod shop to get the unibody tunnelled and strengthened. Might as well get them to put the camaro powertrain in it at the same time. Unfortunately, I didnt win the lottery last week.
The STS turbo is more realistic, but I doubt it really adds 290hp. I think there was a post around here from someone asking about it recently. So STS guys apparently do know how to do it, but dont have enough demand to create a kit specifically for the HHR.

I would think that it would be easiest to get a whole chassis fabricated to the correct track and wheelbase, then drop a body over it with the floorpan modified.
