We looked at a gently-used one when I got mine. It would have cost me more (thanks to my GM discount) to have bought the used one with 4000 miles on it than to get the new. Asking price was the same as if it were brand new.

I have only seen one other used one. It was at the "rental car sales" lot.

You will see a lot more now. One year leases are ending and rentals are being turned in.

I bought mine used in May with 7300 miles. It was a program car in new condition and they had it priced at 19699 or something like that but I got it for 18k fully loaded, all it doesn't have are the running boards, luggage rack, onstar and xmradio. I have no complaints but plan to get the running boards.

I've had to drive several HHR rentals and found almost all have the smaller 2.2L engine (cheaper insurance), and none have running boards (safety issues). Rental companies specify this when they order the cars. If you don't mind those features, and aren't concerned with buying a car that was "driven like a rental" - I'd say go for it!

That is so true. Some are great deals, but just think of the last time you had a rental........

Like the POS Neon I have right now, stolen truck, insurance gives me this, then the haggling over mods, you really think I care about this car?

I was told mine was a rental and it has the 2.4, 4 wheel ABS and like I said every option but running boards and roof rack, onstar and xm radio even heated leather seats and pioneer sound.

I won't even tell you what a certain car manufacturer did to competitive vehicle rentals when I rented, leased, etc. for the engineering people to test.

But, it is not unusal through the industry !!
