Vin vs build tag

My vin says I have a 2.4 engine while my build tag in the glove box says 2.2. Which do I believe?
How can I tell the difference by looking?
Vin 3GNBABDB9AS59XXXX
Thanks!

Up on the top tool bar on the left side click TOOLS then click VIN decoder. One reason may be that different years had different engine codes.

Your VIN shows B in the eighth position for 2.2L/LE8 in your 2010 HHR.

1LT could have either engine.

It would have 2.2L standard and The 2.4L would be an option.

Look carefully at the Exhaust pipe and see if it has a welded on Stainless tip with the opening cut at a slight angle.

If it has that tip then you have a 2.4L

From the 2010 Owners Manual, page 6-126 :

2.0L L4......... Engine M
2.2L L4......... Engine B
2.4L L4......... Engine V

Yes, 2.4 ONLY will have the 3-1/2" across exhaust tip.

And above the 14B your sticker shows 1LT.
I believe you have a 1LT , LE8 confirmation with that B in the eighth digit in the VIN
