I got Husky liners. They never move.

Husky liners here too, fit like a glove and cannot move, plus they go up under and behind the gas and brake. They are also thin, so don't add alot of bulk/thickness.

I bought cheap rubber mats and placed them under the ones that came with the HHR. They are staggered to help cover the entire area and the stock mats don't move.

I used to have a similar problem with my minivan only the mat would bunch up under the pedals and I couldn't accelerate or stop quickly. I'm glad Chevy put that hook on the floor!

Bumping up this thread for wihockey11. Unfortunately it is too late for him as he has had an accident as a result of floor mats but hopefully it will help out some others. I strongly suggest a pair of Weathertech Digital Fit Liners, Husky Liners, or something similar as this should not be able to occur with that product.

Hillsdale, which floor mats did you have in yours when it happened to you?

Generic store bought winter floor mats. Again I strongly suggest liners instead. I will post a pic of Weathertech liners in just a sec.
