Thanks for the well wishes Dw, being under the weather kinda sucks, but life is what happens when you have other plans.

Thanks for that saying whopper, I find myself using it often these days.

Michelle took Paddy out to run errands this afternoon, about a mile down the road she got "Bong! POWER STEERING" on the DIC, back to the dealership on Monday.

Maybe a duff replacement EPS Motor got installed last month, kinda odd to lose one four weeks after the first one went "Pift", life is like this some days.

Aw well, she limped him home and took off in her Fiat, who'd a thunk it...a Fiat being more dependable than a Chevy.

Glad Michelle got Paddy home safely, at least the EPS motor is an easy fix and GM will still pick up the tab!

Yesterday I had to replace the strut bearing plates , the old ones , just installed last October 10th started to grind and creak two weeks ago, I noticed it on the drive to Florida, it got worse on the way back home, the new ones are still Monroe's but have a better fitting plastic bearing the friction fits tighter on the top spring plate!
My first repair I have done my self since my open heart surgery last July, and it wasn't to bad. My buddy Dan did the work in October but he is away on vacation , so I took my time and tackled it my self!
Now off the the Parts Source for my warranty refund!!

It's only a mock up

I enjoy customizing and did some research on tail lights, to discover old can be new again. I know they are both brake lights, I still need to order the matching reverse light lens. I wanted to make sure I could fit them correctly and that they would look right. I think they look pretty trick, so I think I'm going to add them. They are 64 Impala tail lights turn on their side. The angle is perfect and after some massaging they almost look like they belong to the HHR.

Neat tails they look great! Go with four tails and mount back up lamps on either side of the plate on the tail gate.

Thanks OB, not sure what I'm doing with the rear gate yet, it's still on the drawing board, but that a good thought.
