Okay......... It's a black car...... a coat of dust makes it look like cr@p.

I didn't need all that stuff.

Yesterday morning after the rains I rinsed it, dried it, spray detailed it and today was cruisin' in the sunshine listening to ZZ Top....... LOUD!

Much easier.

Yesterday and Today I have started my Audio/Video Upgrade.

But, it's Friggin HOT and HUMID out there. In the 90's.

Sitting in a Black Panel gets HOT!

Doing my install in Phases, right now I just want to get the Head Unit installed with the 9" Headrest Monitors.

Then I will install the new door speakers, then tackle the 2 Alpine Amps and the 12" Pioneer Sub Woofer.
I have the 7 speaker Pioneer 8" Sub Woofer System now.

Man it's HOT out, and at dusk the Mosquitos come out and eat you alive!

Work in Progress Pics.

Let's see...

clay bar (and no, not that liquid junk), carnauba wax, oil change today. Also cleaned the interior with the carpet cleaner stuff I got from my contact at Pep Boys.

So far ...

Cobra 148GTL (1989 series) CB radio (40-channel)
Yaesu FT-7800R 2m/70cm mobile ham radio (that also receives the Police radios... :) )
Texas Ranger de-modded 10m Mobile Ham
Yaesu 6m HT w/ 250W linear
350W 10-12m AM/SSB/FM linear
Some antennas...

Previous owner:
misc. chrome on rear (around taillights, afmkt tip, etc.)
"Chevrolet" lettering on front grille
2007-series HHR black chrome wheels (original RPO's show stock steelie 16" wheels, not the larger chrome wheels on there now). Don't know if this was added before he took delivery or not.
junk-looking front "vents" like on the Buick. Drilled, so I won't bother removing them, as it'd cost more'n it's worth to cover up the holes.
Haven't found other mods, yet, but that don't mean there aren't any. Could just look stock but not be, so honestly, idk.

Drove 70 miles round trip to get a "Dave's Highwayman Special" @ The Country Store's diner in Royalston, Mass.
Full blown steak bomb on 2 fried eggs on a bulkie for $4.50 and 2 Full Throttle "energy" drinks for $3.
Listened to ZZ Top's First Album & Rio Grande Mud the whole way.

Life is good

ZZ Top ... nice to see another Rock & Roll fan out there (I'm more of a country fan, but also like some good ol' rock 'n roll).

Sometimes it cranks Metallica or VH, sometimes ZZ, Zeppelin, Skynyrd or Sabbath, sometimes Bocephus or Shooter & sometimes Beethoven or Mozart
or Robert Johnson, Howlin Wolf, Muddy Waters, Johnny Winter, Ten Years After, Canned Heat, Clapton, Funkadelic, Miles Davis, Hendrix, ...heh

It just has to have passion - no Winger or Abba, thanks anyways
