I managed to get the wrinkles that the plate holder made in my bumper with my hot air welder heated and cooled three times and it seem to have remembered the original shape,I think this looks like a plan if Johnny law doesn't like the change.

Yes it sure does look alot cleaner without the plate on your bumper! We think it will take more than touch up paint to remove the low spots though?

It did I haven't got a pic of it yet the repeated careful heating and cooling worked. I had to do it because the body shop was scared to try it . Now I have to decide how to fill and paint the holes. Besides Pevlos have you seen any more SS's in this Aqua Blue Metallic ? where do I look to see how many were made in '09 ??

Peevlos's was blue flash metallic...sounds like a different shade?

Peevlos had a Blue Flash AA5 (same color as mine). I love the aqua though.

Nope. Blue Flash is the blue that has more pinkish purple to it. Nothing like the Aqua Blue

 

Yeah your color (SWEET) is probably not one that is easily blended! Un-like our plain ol Silver we have the rear hatch, spoiler, front and rear bumpers all modded and spot painted in! Also like you stated most shops shy away from custom work nowadays as they are just used to remove and re-install .....

I love road trips but perhaps a little instruction will pull this one off it wasn't hard to do just a couple places to proceed with extreme caution especially the heating and cooling part. But the fact that plastics have memory is true,I was hopeful when I started but figured whatever happened it couldn't look worst than it did when I first took it off .
