OK, did all I previously posted. But did pull the rear wheels to clean up the brake components, then good adjustment..

I jacked up the BlackSwan and cleaned and adjusted the rear drum brakes, serviced the front brake pads slide pins then went for a cruise .

Went for a tour to Long Point on Lake Erie and clicked past 300,000 klms not yet 200,000 miles

I noticed 40 klms past the milestone or would that be kilometre rock?

Swapped out my rear tail and reverse lights with LEDs. Huge difference in brightness.

Well, I didn't do anything (except spend money) because I just got out of the hospital, but the HHR got a brand new GM 2.2 l. long block installed. The cost was about the same as another HHR would have been (and I seriously considered it), but I know my car and felt like I needed to fix it rather than one I knew nothing about. Pretty happy so far, although I think it's a little down on power from the original engine (it's only got 150 miles on it so far, so I haven't run it hard). After sitting down at my shop for the last year, it's had a few reactivation pains. It seems like it's having more trouble disengaging the lock-up converter when going up a hill, and it took a while for the throttle by wire system to re-learn itself (idle speed jumped around a few times, but seems fine now). On the plus side, it seems like it's getting a couple of MPG more than it used to!
