What exhaust???

The LS I recently purchased is 100% stock, I want to put another exhaust on it that you can actually hear.

I’ve seen a few options online but really want something as loud as I can get, has anyone done this and if so which exhaust did you go with.

Thanks

The 2.2 has a 1 3/4 inch tube, to open up the exhaust you can bolt up the 2.4 2 1/4 inch exhaust, not much louder.
Flowmaster mufflers and some pipe can make a nice dual exhaust.
Magnaflow makes a nice 1 3/4 in 1 3/4 out muffler that has a nice tone.

The other systems, cat back are mostly no longer available, GM Performance/ Borla.

Well, if all you want to achieve is to make some noise, then just do a muffler delete. Cut out the muffler and weld in a straight pipe.

Exactly.
If it doesn't add "go," though, it is just obnoxious.

Thanks, the car is a POS when it comes to performance, all I’m looking for is obnoxious 😎

I haven't done this yet, but have been looking at the Gibson 2.5 inch stainless system...

Gibson 615532: Swept-Side Cat-Back Exhaust 2006-11 Chevy HHR 2.2L-2.4L | JEGS

I would have prefered the GMPP/Borla system, but it's no longer available.

I feel ya' although I thought the LT was pretty dang peppy, especially after I went with the Airaid CAI.
The real answer though, is that you may just be driving the wrong HHR.

When I pulled off the lot last month in my "new" SS, I had a WHOLE different opinion of this little beast.
The ride home, mostly highway, was more fun than I have had since I parked the Mustang.
I went to pass someone at 75 or so and gave it some juice and got around in a couple of seconds.
Then I saw that I had passed into triple digits, accidentally!

Full disclosure though, I AM looking at a Flowmaster HP2 shorty with the "aggressive sound."
Mostly because the whistle as I pass the ricers just seems a little inadequate.
I know several members have them here and on the FB pages and the YT vids I have seen sounded pretty nice.

That's the one I've been looking at too, I have a Borla Cat Back with X-Pipe on my vette and it sounds incredible, big fan of Borla

Didn't buy this for performance, have something else for that!! The HHR is strictly my daily driver, airport car, winter car, sits outside all the time, no room in the garage...that said nothing wrong with making it look and sound little better ..... ordered these wheels last week to give it a little better look and ordering a windshield visor for it as soon as the weather breaks.

Where did you find a windshield visor ? New ones are out of production and the
"good" kind (not aluminum) are almost impossible to find used.
