What kind of car did you give up for your HHR?
I didn't really give it up. It's sittting here right next to my HHR. My 96 VW Jetta GL. 180K+ miles and still going. Nothing wrong with it other than a few little rust spots. After 10 years of service, I knew I needed to buy something new. The Jetta has to be, hands-down, one of the best cars, and reliable, that I have ever owned. Now I'm giving the VW to my 16-1/2 year old nephew. It's his birthday present.

Traded in a 2005 Xterrra. I got it when gas was $1.95/gal, now going on $3. Sucked too much gas. Still have my other toy though. It sucks gas, but only drive it a little:

Traded in my all black 1997 GMC Sonoma SLS, Sportside, with the 4.3L HO Vortec, Goodyear Eagles all around the wheels. Way way too much power for that small truck, and sucked down the gas something major. Got 19 mpg highway if I was by myself, no cargo, and had the wind at my back.
I didn't trade in the 2001 Escort, I gave it to my tattoo artist kid, he is serving his apprentiseship and needed a reliable ride. We are also bringing his '52 Chevy hot rod back to life, we built it while he was in high-school, but the small block needs to be worked/replaced and it's time for a redo for the whole car. My work ride is a '92 Corsica and I love that old horse...The two loves of my life, my wife and my HHR spend the days together.
i gave up a 28 gallon gas tank giving aroung 11 mpg attached to a 2002 durango w/3" suspension lift. my twin sons have their own cars and just dont go anywhere with me, my girlfriend and two daughters anymore. (see why i needed the durango) but i didnt want a car or a truck or a Looser Cruiser) so i purchased my beloved sring edition!https://www.chevyhhr.net/gallery/fil...9/100_0639.JPG[IMG]
Traded in a 2004 Buick Rendezvous. Great SUV but getting expensive on fuel.Retired in September, so had to cut costs. love the HHR.
Still have my '88 Black Corvette for those times I need to vent, and remember the " good old days" of V-8 thunder and POWER !!!

Traded in a 2002 Dodge Ram Crew Cab - it was great for camping and long trips, but once gas hit $3 (again), it was killin' me - about $75 to fill up every week - that's like another car payment! Anyway, my lease was up so I started looking into the HHR and really liked it. I'll get another truck later, as the whole famn damily still likes to go camping. For now, we take trips in the wife's Honda Pilot, which is also great and not too bad on gas (V6). The HHR is exlusively my ride - had it since October 2005, and my wife has yet to drive it once!

I love my HHR -30MPG
