What kind of car did you give up for your HHR?
got rid of my pacifica had 213,000 miles on and gee was sure it was time for a oil change tune up, tyres, shocks, and gen clean up add all that together and it almost paid for the h car (it's new name)
A 1994 Chrysler LeBaron GTC convertible. I've had it 6 years. I haven't sold it yet, but am about to...
A worthwhile trade! Besides, I have another convertible for those nice days, a 1995 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme convertible, with the DOHC 3.4 V-6.

1998 Chevrolet Cavalier that girlfriend purchased new. It was totally base, with the manual transmission we prefer anyway, no options other than a CD player. Water got in, and rusted out the airbag control module. Cost would have been $1000 to replace/repair, which is about what the car was worth. Instead, we upgraded to the HHR noted in my signature below, and we are both pleased with how much better it is.
I didn't give up a car, it gave up on me. 2002 Passat. Engine split a ring and the repair cost more than the car was worth. I have to admit I like my
HHR SS so much more, I wish it would have happened sooner.

I gave up a 2005 Nissan Titan, Banks Turbo Exhaust, cold air intake, throttle body spacer, and coolant bypass setup. I drive 45 miles to work one way and gas was getting my pocket book a little too hard. traded in for a hhr ss, had to get something a little sporty.
I traded in my 99 S-10 for my 07. I loved that truck but it was time to let it go. i had 130000 on it when i traded it in. who knew that a vortec 2200 SFI with manual trans would be so fun. i had 17s with a lowered suspension and full header back exhaust with an AEM intake on it. it was fun modding that truck. but when parts were breaking down every month, i figured it was time to upgrade.
A 2001 Ford Ranger Edge 4.0 V6 w/ an auto. Considering how slow and heavy it was, it had a decent amount of low end torque. Which ended up destroying 2 transmissions in the span of 55,000 miles. I also had a roll pan on which meant I had to relocate the spare tire to the bed. I wanted something that would run 14s yet still have enough room for engine parts in the back and be easily modified. Also the mpg had to be a hell of a lot better. 2nd job delivering pizza's killed the mileage pretty bad. When I traded it in I was lucky to get 15mpg on a good day. So far the HHR has lived up to my requirements. Right now bone stock, I have averaged 22 mpg on a tank of reg and premium. I only averaged 20 with the regular so I should be around 23, 24 from now on.
