Whats that smell
I read somewhere years ago that to prevent a smell coming from the A/C when you first turn it on, to shut it off a few minutes before you arrive at your destination, but leave the fan on. This supposedly helps dry up any moisture in the system so it won't sit there overnight (Day after day) and keep mold from starting. Don't know if there's any "Science" behind this, but we do it anyway. Haven't noticed any odors though.
Alzonie. that does work.
Most times I shut the AC off and then turn the fan up for a bit to blow out any moisture - no smell. If I forget to do that, sometimes there is a bit of a smell, but it does not last long.

Works for me.

I use Lysol or similar product once a year......needed or not.
Turn the fan and a/c on (outside air), lift the hood and spray into the air intake of the cowling. Do it 2-3 times and use almost the whole can. Never had any problems.

well im doing a bump cuz im still getting a smell it only comes when the defrost and or where it blows to your feet, mainly when the ac kicks on since it does kick on on that setting even if its on heat. i did take it to the dealer and they sprayed Frigi Fresh in my ac they said it kills any mold or bacteria it worked for a few days now the smell is back. i guess ill change the in-cabin air filter and see if that works since it does look pretty nasty. any ideas what else it could be?
