I never gave the names of my cars.
All of them were "swallows" (or Swift) - in Russia it affectionate name of any beautiful cars.
But when I bought the HHR, a girlfriend of mine said, "I do not like it. You say - it is very fast, but it looks like a hippo." I laughed for a long time. The woman think by heart, a very precise definition. Hippo is not very nice - but it does not confuse anyone, it's fast, strong, sometimes brutal. Now my HHR - Hippo. Also in the Russian language Hippo and Behemoth (terrible demon of hell) - the same thing.

I never named a car/truck or whatever. I have used several Expletives to describe various vehicles I have owned but never a given name. My Grandmother named her car, Betsey. Whenever she traded cars the name remained the same, Betsey, but I've never named a car. Maybe 'The Fridge' because it looks like a refrigerator with tires. I don't know, I'll have to think about it.
