Why HHR?
I was never into convertibles, yet riding Harley's is one of my favorite things. Go figure..
Oh & for the record prior to HHR, I did test drive 2 different PT's , one had a turbo.. They seemed ok to me. But just didn't have that bow-tie badge..

Low-cost utility with a healthy dose of fun. My wife needed an economical dogmobile with capacity to haul lots of stuff for work. Nothing else compared. The hard plastic interior, so universally panned by the critics, was a plus because I knew it would wear well, unlike pseudo-luxurious soft-touch surfaces. She was leery of 4-bangers after having owned a Pinto and a mini-pickup, neither of which could "get out of it's own way," and she had low expectation. She was not just satisfied with the 2008 2.2 automatic, she was impressed - that's how bad her prior experiences were. Happy wife, happy life. Ended up with three others, still own two.
Was the looks for me, even before i saw a panel version. My wagon and panel both served
me well with the news paper route fold down the back seat and it would carry a bunch of papers.
Pretty much from the start I wanted an SS and actually test drove an SS Panel, I was waiting on
work to be done to my 08 Trail Blazer SS. Wish had known then how few were made.

Borrowed an LS Panel while my 1-ton with utility bed was in the shop.
After a week I sold the 1-ton and bought the panel.
Wrecked my 2007 red LS panel, and just replaced it with a 2008 LS silver.
Great to cart my tools and ladders around while being great in traffic and able to park it in tiny spaces.
Also, I finally look kinda cool.

I did not think too much about them, and was always a truck or Tahoe guy. I bought a used Toyota for $250 that needed some work, I fixed it up and drove it for a month before I flipped it. I do not care for Japanese cars. But after driving the Toyota I realized I might like a cheap little car to go to work and haul the dog.
I bought a 2006 LT and really liked it, I fixed a bunch of stuff on it and sold it to a High School girl and then went on the hunt for a nicer one and I scored a 2009 LT with 122000 that is in excellent condition and I love that thing.
I really would love to find a nice 2LT panel with low miles.

They did look cool, handle very well are easy to work on and personalize, I bought Oldblue a 2007 2.2 LS in Dec, 2009, drove it till September 2019.
I bought the BlackSwan a 2011 2.4 2LT in August 2019 and still have it!
I looked at a 2010 SS last week, I went back 2 days later, it was gone, the woman on the front lawn said she got tried of it sitting in her driveway, it was her daughter’s and she got some speeding tickets, it was 11 years old , she called a local wrecking yard they gave her $650 for it! I’ve called all the yards around here, and the one she told me bought, it’s gone!
I shouldn’t have to wait to long till another one comes up for sale! I hesitated several years ago on a 2009 SS panel 5 speed, GaryB bought that one! I think he still has it!
