Will it really ever happen? Turbo or what?

I'm really wanting one of these HHR's bad! My question is what are some of you guys opinions out there if the future of this cool ride will ever pack a turbo? I read the link on the home page, it would be nice to to think that GM would but I'm not holding my breath. Wouldn't that take the price skyward? I'd guess around 26K-28K bucks. It would be really nice to know before I buy one of these things or should I hold my breath & wait a year to see what happens. Gimme your thoughts please. Thanks for taking time to read my post.

I'm sure in time, this option will be availabe on the HHR. Until then, I'm sure the aftermarket suppliers will be scurrying to come up with something for us, but at a pretty price, I'm sure. I think GM's logic was to see first how the HHR would do in the market, before adding options such as these.

I remember reading somewhere in the forum that there is a GM turbo engine that should drop into the HHR. Search function isn't working on my end or I'd try and locate it for you. Seems to me that it might have been the Solstice, but I could be wrong. I'm sure someone like Mike from SoCalHHR's, CH or CJ will pop in and enlighten us.

Spelling not being a factor, that sounds like O6's most intelligent post here.
Guess he's good for something, such as remembering what certain posts talked about, so we don't have to go hunting for them.

Your post is spot on jx3. Not everyone spells great...but he certainly expanded on what I said earlier. Good job 06.

if and when they release a turbo version for the HHR, I wouldnt buy it for 26k/28k...I'd rather pick up a lancer evo IX for the same price (4 cylinder packed with 290+HP of ass whoopin'!).

Copperhead,

If GM put's a turbo or blower in the HHR, their intention would not for it to be an EVO beater or even a Ricer mauler.

It's all about the looks and the ride not about the speed..If I wanted speed I would've held onto my 94 Formula and if you want speed go out and get a ricer.

I too, was first concerned about the power of 4 banger, but after a month of lurking through this forum, I went out and bought an HHR.

Dude, buy an HHR and be one with the universe
