Wiper Blade Recommendations?

Does anybody have any recommendations as to what brand of wiper blades work best when replacing the OEM blades? I got about 2 years out of the original front wipers that came with my HHR and overall I was very pleased with them. Then I replaced them with a set of Rain-X Latitude blades which are horrible. They're sort of the same style, a one-piece beam, but they just don't conform to the curvature of the windshield at all. The very outer tips don't touch the windshield, and they seem to be applying too much pressure in the middle of the swipe because they're considerably louder than the OEM Chevy blades.

Anyway, two of my local Chevy dealers carry the OEM blades in stock, but they cost $27.99 EACH. I've never seen a wiper blade cost almost 30 bucks for just one, not even Bosch Icons or whatever is the most expensive brand at auto parts stores.

Can anybody recommend a good aftermarket wiper blade that won't break the bank and that works well year round? Thanks!

I got the michelin hydroedge from costco. Good price ($12) and they have been working great for over a year now. Initially the fit wasnt perfect, but they conformed to the window better after a month or two. I will be getting them again.

I had heard good things about the Rain-X blades.

I've had the Icon's on for over 2 years and they still work great. I do need to replace my rear one again soon.

One good thing about the "Latitude" wiper is that it is possible to get the cut-to-fit blade refills to work, the OEM ones are not available as far as I can tell. This may be true of other aftermarket wipers also, don't know for sure.

I thought I read you have to get a cut-to-fit blade to replace the rear wipers.

A few places sell a direct swap. But for the rear I usually just pick up a narrow refill and cut to fit. I've had the Bosch Icon's on the front for a little over 2 years now.

And I thought we were talking about the windshield, not the rear.

Does anyone actually use the rear wiper enough to warrant replacing it?
