Unhappy Wiper Delays Not Long Enough:

I'm finding the maximum delay time is WAY too short....especially for the rear window! Previous cars would go upto a minute or more and I'm finding the HHR is way shorter than this!! The rear window only needs a wipe every minute or two, even in a heavy rain, but the slowest delay time still results in a dry, squeaky wipe so the rear wiper is basically a manual wiper. Ditto for the regular wipers most of the time! The dealer says my car is normal, but I'm sure they can be reprogrammed. Anyone have any feedback on this?

Thanks and Merry Christmas Everyone!

I don't have an issue with the front wiper as they offer the mist setting were you just hit the stalk when you need it.

But the rear wiper needs a mist feature of a knob to set the timing to where it is the most effective.

I would be fine if I could pull the stalk back toward me when I need a random rear window swipe. I hate having to look down to the switch.

I have no issues with the delay on the front or rear. It it's raining light enough to not warrent either delay, I just hit the momentary sweep on the front once and just flip the rear on and off once. At least the rear has two delays and not one delay and a constant, or just a constant.

I believe the rear wiper is speed sensitive, the faster you go the shorter the time span

Rain is not much of an issue most time where your at but of late you must not be driving much.

I find the rear delay is either too short or too long. Mine is the same speed no matter how fast I go. Or at least I haver never notice a change in speed.

Did not know that...so, if I'm reading this correctly, the faster I go, the shorter time between swishes?

And I have the rear-wiper-delete option (aka the Tkhhr-special-mod), so can't say anything about the back wiper...it's gone!
