wow. is this possible

In the past 20000kms and one years, my dealer has replace , steering rack, steering column, link kits, control arm bushings all, front struts twice and now tower bearing and bushings. Because of noise over bump that they have not been able to fully illuminate.

Now the dealer blame my tires they say my aftermarket mags have too much low profile tires on them. With result and premature wear of my front end component.
I have 215/50/r17 the same size gm offers has an options on these HHR’S holy crap what else. Are they going to refuse work on my front end base on that... shisss

I had the same clunking and it went away after I replaced the front sway bar rubber bushings.

if the car would have been purchased and not lease, I would probably invested in a better strut and coil suspension and all bushings. But it’s a lease and its under or was under warranty. So I am not going to pay one more sent out of my pocket for this POS. I have already put to much of my money 2 set or rotors 1 set of drum for warpage in 54000kms that is not acceptable warranty should have paid for that...

Its a common occurance. It has nothing to do with tire profile.

I wish I knew. but the dlr told me that they are warp and thats why when I slow down fast the car shake like hell, I replace the front rotor thinking it would resolve it but sure enough the shake is not from the front but the back... so I guest they are right in saying they are warp.

Alright, the dealer explained to me that my HHR ls requires a speed rating T and that the T rated tire is softer and created to take absorb better the roads imperfections. I look up a HHR and the rating on an original tire is S not T. the dealer could not even get that right.

And further more that the 17’’ is only offered by GM on the LT2 because it has a adapted suspension that is stiffer to be able to accept the roughness of the tires lower side wall...

Now I have found out that bigger the speed rated letter softer the thread is, it melts faster that’s how it sticks to the road better, SOFTER nor harder... should absorb better if softer no?

Original equipment tire is Firestone Affinity touring 215-55R16 91S diameter 25.3’’ load capacity 1356 pounds speed rating 180kms/h

Here is my tire now brand=wanly model=s-1092 size 215-50ZR17 91W diameter 25.5’’ load capacity 1356 pounds speed rating 270kms/h

Now, from all I have read, and the few calls I made to tire specialist shops, load capacity are the same the compound on my tire is softer. I am really only loosing ½ inch from the road to the rims in rubber, the comfort should be the same if not better…

The 16" tires will absorb more because of the taller sidewall, not because of the thread compound. Now you can inform your dealer that 17" tires have been standard on the LT1 (with the same suspension as the LS) since 2006.

For your info, I'm using 15" tires (195-65R15) in the winter and that's usually when I get the most suspension damage (Same as yours, my front suspension has been completely replaced over a period of 3 years), so I doubt that your 17" are responsible for the damage.

Which dealer is this so I make sure that I avoid them? Sounds to me that they can't figure it out and want to get rid of you.

Have they checked the lower control arm bushings? One went bad on me last year and it took them a while to figure out.
