Did GM Pay Pre-recall Repairs?

Just wondering if anyone who had to replace their ignition switch prior to the recall. Did GM reimburse you for the cost once the recall was announced?

From what I understand any repairs will be reimbursed per the letter GM sent out, however those parts you paid for maybe still the old style inferior part, if you have the recall letter and your parts and labor work order receipt take it into your GM dealer , they may still have to replace your new parts.

As Oldblue stated, any work done prior to the recall may have been done using the "old" style switch. You still would need to have the recall done to be sure you get the updated parts.

As far as a reimbursement for the prior work done. Yes GM has a program set up for that. If you did not receive one of the reimbursement forms in the mail, just contact your local GM dealer.
