I see in the recall http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/owners/..._ids=14V153000
it says 'certain model year' of these cars will be affected then goes on to say 2009 and 2010 HHRs will receive a new EPS. I can understand the confusion, for now I am confused. If it had said 'certain vehicles in certain model years'...but it doesn't. It should cover all vehicles in those model years as it reads now.

As has been explained; they are doing the recalls in waves.
For instance my 2011 shows up as recalled for the ignition, but parts not available. My 2008 shows up recalled, make an appointment. Neither shows up for the power steering yet.

Question

I suppose others have gotten this Postcard too from GM saying their records show that the Recall Service has not been completed on your HHR. Also had a big stop sign on it telling you to "Make Your Appointment Today!". So, figuring this meant the parts were in, I called my Service Adviser. He didn't seem to know anything about this card, and said the parts were still on order. Not much point in making an appointment!!

My card with the "stop sign" indicated they had no record of my ORDERING the parts for the recall, indicating that I needed to contact my dealer and PROVIDE MY VIN SO THE PARTS COULD BE ORDERED.

I did so, indicating to my Service Advisor that I may be on vacation when the parts are in inventory. Advisor stated that would not be a problem.....he would call and let me know when they arrived, by leaving a message on the telly recorder, and mark them with my VIN and name, storing until contacted.

I trust this to work since I've used the same SA for 5 vehicles and we are on a first name basis (Note: this dealership assigns a personal SA when you purchase a vehicle).

So my point is....you should have provided your VIN and had him order the parts specifically for your vehicle.......which is the intent of GM and the card.

Disregard my previous post......

I was thinking ignition recall....this thread is about the EPS....electric motor.

So Alzonie....are you saying you received a recall notice for your ELECTRIC POWER STEERING MOTOR?????

They also wanted me to log in and my name, I don't want an account with GM, I think it is too bad they bailed them out.
