just want to clarify something..

I have a 2008 and received the letter for power steering recall..it says its covering all HHR years - but I am not having any problems with mine as of yet.

Dealer has nothing on file that it needs to be done and are denying the "free" recall work for it, stating that I need to pay for diagnostic to see if there is a problem before they replace it..

ummmmm...

I guess ill just bring the letter in to show them

I took my letter in to show them and had to point out that they would replace even if there was no issue with the current one.
she relented and said we'll order the part and call you when it's in.

Canada has an entirely different system from the US, so don't start generalizing aboot the letter.

Skyline26, please, reread your letter! It is not a recall but a warranty extension per vin! At least that's what my GM Canada letter states. Safety Special Coverage 10413 I received mine in August 2014

I know, but neither of you said that. It needed clarification to the masses.

Gee, can't imagine why some people consider your remarks 'snarky'.........My point is that this member of the 'masses' didn't need clarification. I knew that is was a member from Canada responding to a member from Canada......

Much like when people incorrectly use the word "recall" in place of the term "extended warranty", clarifying the difference between the USA and Canadian issues is a valid thing to point out.
