You da man! I can't even count the total miles I've put on GM vehicles in my lifetime! What's ironic is that my parents have not owned anything but Camrys since I was young. My oldest brother loves Dodge products, next oldest loves Lincolns and my youngest brother has Toyotas. I guess I'm the rebel within my family!

I have owned several non-GM vehicles in the past, most of which I had major problems with.

My dad was always a GM man when I was young, I think that is where it all started for me. I counted a while back and I have owned 33 cars in the 32 years I have been driving. All but 4 of them were GM's, and those I kept for a very short time! Especially the Honda that blew the timing belt after 4 mo. and smashed the valves!

I have 218K on my Tahoe (just finally had to replace the original trans.) 203K on Riviera (all original and runs super strong) and over 240k on my 70 Bird before I started the restoration (original motor finally let go while racing a Dodge Charger!)

I just sold my 'OO Grand Prix this spring that had over 165K on it as well! I am definitely not afraid of taking these vehicles up to high miles as long as you maintain them properly. It doesn't hurt to WOT (wide open throttle) them at least once a day. This keeps the carbon buildup down and like a good race horse, you have to stretch those legs!

I just gave my 04 GP to my 17-year old daughter. I think I'll hold on to your advice for a while before I pass it on to her.....

13K and counting.

The SS badges on the seats wear quickly, I wonder if they are made out of floor mats, that also wear. I must be one of the lucky ones whos car was built on a tuesday. I have had no problems to speak of, with the exception that the XM offering is just as bad a cable TV, and the widly reported Brake system tardieness
