2008 SS Idle Issue

2008 SS Idle Issue

I notice that on start up the idle is pretty rough for about 10 seconds then goes away.
It did trigger the cel haven't had it scanned yet but what are y'all thinking?

What is the CODE - not the description - the code. You need to be specific.

ahhhh the P0171!!! (always post the code, not the description) - Did you try the SEARCH tool at the top of the page? Punch in P0171 and it will give you a mess of links detailing the various causes: leak in the flex pipe that attaches to the exhaust manifold, bad fuel pump, evap purge solenoid etc..

You mentioned problems after topping up the gas tank - I'd suspect the evap purge solenoid. The flex pipe at the exhaust manifold is pretty easy to check just don't burn your hands on it when checking it (not a whole lot of room there when reaching down from the top of the engine).

Probably gas cap, could be some other vac or EGR leak.
