Is the front bumper different on the 2010 SS? Just looked at a picture of one and it looks like it tilts down in the middle.

Not exactly sure what you mean by "tilts down", but my 2010 SS looks straight and squared up.Hope that answers the ?.

Yes its different from a non SS the area you say looks like it tilts in middle, is an indented are(for lack of a better term) cause the SS grille sits lower than the non SS grille

 

All SS have the same bumpers. They did not change it for one year.

Yes. Pull some pics and compare.The SS grill hangs below the bottom edge of the hood corners by about an inch,thus the need for an indented area across the front bumper.
In fact there are numerous differences between a "regular" HHR and the SS. (Body aero parts,engine,brakes,suspension,seats,etc). I often tell people "It's a HHR SS. A lot different than a regular HHR"

 

The SS is being compared to a pinball machine?

 

The regular HHR bumper needs cut to fit the SS grill. One look will show that the SS nose and Regular nose are very different.

Many changes were incorperated into the SS in the front suspension and other areas like brakes, bars and shock/struts. Streering is calibrated different too. It is much more than just an engine and wheels.

 

I don't think the debate on differences between norm hhr and ss is needed.

Just the grill vs bumper.

Somebody post up their normal front end. I haven't looked well enough to notice the difference.
