You could do something like the Saturn Sky setup.

It all depends on what YOU like.If you want it,do.You own the vehicle. Now if those fellers wanna really whine,I would go to NAPA,and just get a set of them ol' bolt turn signals that our folks put on the fenders of their pick ups!!!Geeze some people will gripe about anything,,,,but if was their idea,it would be the greatest since the ball point pen!!!

Man, just do what you want and forget about all the guys on here that always want to come out and moan, cry and find fault in what others want to do or are doing. The post didn't ask about any laws or if it was safe or not. LIVE AND LET LIVE.

This may sound like a stupid question, but why not use a set of tail lights in place of the backup lights? Is the opening that much different? I've been planning on doing this since I got my HHR. My plan for the backup lights was to replace my reflectors with high intensity LEDs from Lamberts or a pair of under bumper lights. Just been to busy with life.

the tail light housings and back up light housings are different sizes. if you wanted to do that you would have to trim the hole bigger to fit the tail light housing in place of the back up lights, if that makes sense...
