50,000 Mile SS "Club"

Just turned over 50,000 miles and still loving my SS. Very reliable (essentially zero problems) even though modified and tuned, and very decent MPG. Hope this is not a duplicate thread.

Almost to 41K and running at a little more than 20K miles per year, so I'll be at 50K by the end of the year. Just put new shoes on the SS and burning up the road again!

getting ready to turn 56,000 miles, 2yrs, 3 1/2 months, it adds up quicky. Aside from the minor deatils, it's running great, nice "COLD" AC since I got the short taken care of, and rotated the tires for the first time @50,000 miles, wearing great, only 1/2 way down, although I don't like the way they ride, I can't complain about the mileage I am getting out of them.....on my way to 100,000 miles within the next 2 years.....

I'm at 42K and the SS is still running strong. Other than a small issue after the GM stage 1 upgrade no other issues to report at all. Still happy with my purchase and loving the performance. I'm putting on about 25K per year so I'm hoping the realiability hold up.

I can understand why you guys are freaked out by the 50,000 mile rotation I don't recommend this rotation for anyone else, but here is what I do at least every 2 weeks or so....
1-check air pressure and adjust for climate conditions (temperature)
2-check treads to see if any obstructions or uneven wear is occurring
3-check sidewalls also for cuts or other signs of damage.
By doing these simple checks, I did not feel the need for earlier rotations, plus the tires are wearing great (even though I am not crazy about them), also because 95% of my daily commute is on the highway ( just about 100 miles per day). And also my driving habits.
I know that I will get at least or close to 100,000 miles out of these tires, unless they decide to let go earlier.......

Well, mine isn't an SS, but I'm creeping up to 50k pretty fast! It's kinda scaring me. But you guys make me not feel as bad since my car is older than yours!

Hey, brother, on the contrary, I hope it's a duplicate thread. I'd like to hear more like this. We usually hear the complaints, never the successes. Sound's like yours is one of the good stories. I'll be taking mine on a 2.5k mile trip at Christmas and reports such as yours restores my confidence in my SS. I only have 17.2k troublefree miles on mine, but looking forward to many more as well.

Here's to another 50k miles on your Vic Red SS
