On Feb 29th 2008 I drove my HHR SS off the lot for the first time. I had no idea of the love affair I would have with this car. I am the guy, who holds onto a car for a few years, then sell it for something else. My SS replaced my mustang GT. (I think my HHR is way faster) There wasn't much info on the car at the time. I was looking at the HHR, because, I really like the lines, and when the SS was announced, I had to have it!
After 6 years, I love it WAY more now, then the day I got it. It runs better (Tuned) Looks better (Some personal touches) Lights the night better (Home made projectors) Stops better (Brembos) More enjoyable to drive. (The Kenwood GPS, DVD with backup camera) It's not perfect, because it's a driver. Battle scars from the daily grind are visible on a close inspection. But from 10 feet +, she is beautiful.
So after all this time, I finally have a car, I absolutely love!
Because nothing lasts forever, I kind of fear for the end of my SS. There is nothing on the market, as far as I can tell, that could even come close to replacing it. In my opinion, it was a big mistake for chevy to stop making the HHR.

I feel the same way, my SS was replaced by the 06 LS. Twice the HHR to me. There isn't much to NOT like on this car. Chevy had a great thing going with this vehicle, to bad so short, but I guess we have a rare ride, and that's pretty cool! I got a great passion for these little wagons.

So long as parts are available, I'll keep on rebuilding and driving my HHR, and if I need to replace it, I'll find one somewhere to buy! Nice to see you still love your SS

Maybe y'all are right in thinking about getting another one now. Just thinking about how to get the wife to agree.

You must let them drive it, especially an SS.....remember why you fell in love with it.. My 16 year old daughter is driving it to High School while her car is in the shop waiting for me to tell the mechanic to go ahead and fix it. She finally told me She loves the little monster Saturday so maybe it's time.

Just can't wait to buy the third one.......

I love mine as well. I originally bought as a fun daily driver while I built my 93 GMC Typhoon. The more I tinker around with the SS the more I love it. I think I may have gotten to the point where I enjoy it even more than the Typhoon.<---First time I've admitted that.
