A ?

What would a 2008 HHR SS 5 spd , 1 of 7 (per GM vin decoder)
with 87,000 miles on the body and a new short block be worth ?
Basically a new engine that has 30 miles on it .
Just driving it home you can tell the engine is fresh !

Whatcha think ?

As much as you can get. You are looking at that "V" aren't you? With all that overtime you have been working. I went to look at a SS panel today but someone beat me too it.

Not much more than any other HHR SS with 87,000 miles on it, if not less because of the new motor.
Those vin decoder things seem to mark Every vehicle as some 1 of some real low number. Not a very accurate indicator of rarity.

I know you love Batman, but not every one does, so a Buyer or a Dealer will knock alot off for having to convert it back to OEM. (or pawn it off at the local car auction)

(BTW- I grew up on the Batman and Robin TV Show, loved it, I at 50 still stop and watch an episode now and then late night on one of the cartoon channels) Never liked the later Batman Movies much.

Before selling or trading it in, I'd think about putting things back the way they were.

Would be hard to find someone that wanted an HHR SS Batmobile. Not saying it can't be done but the HHR's are hard enough to sell outright for a fair return.

Myself I have 100% of my OEM stuff I took off or swapped out, I can put it back to Stock, then sell the buyer the Extras.

I think the guys that sold off the HHR SS OEM Wheels are gonna be sorry they did so. Those will be the first thing a future buyer wanting a HHR SS will be looking for on it.

Chicago craigslist

08 HHR SS 14,900 with 67,000 miles (Orange)
08 HHR SS 17,695 with 26,000 miles (Red)
10 " " 18,995 with 18,000 miles (Black)

3 Dealers and I think they will have these around awhile at those asking prices, but then again, they Bank on the theory that a Sucker is born Every minute.

Used car prices are supposedly up, but thats for High Demand used cars.

I LOVE my 2LT HHR Panel, don't get me wrong, but I also know the HHR in general is harder to sell than a Cobalt or a Camaro.

I saw what the New HHR Panels were going for, and what Low mileage used ones were selling for. At less than half the cost of a New one, it was a no brainer to buy a low mileage one. Knowing that resale on all HHR's were alot lower than other cars just by it's retro style.
My 08 was bought New in Mid/Late 09, and I bought it in July 2010, with 19,000 miles on it, at Half the cost. I got alot less to lose if I had to sell it. I have 24,800 miles on my Panel now.

IF, I were looking for an SS HHR now, it would be BLACK, it would be a PANEL, and it would have Less than 25,000 miles on it, the Lower the Better. All Numbers would Match.

Any history of damage or motor troubles would be out of the question.

The SS's were already gone New when I was buying, I did Not want a Used SS.

We can all Hope for a high price when we sell, but the reality is, high priced ones (HHR's) Sit a LONG time, trying to be sold. Yes the SS's do have a higher resale value than the LS/LT's but they still dont have the same resale value as other more popular SS's.

A & P ,

The only customizing i've done is vinyl work , I can return this car to stock in about 2 hours, 3 if i strip and reclear the rims. Except for the hole in the hood, Can't do much about that.
I get your point about the #'s matching thing but it's an HHR , Not a hemi. lol

Over time will go to pay for my 16 year old girls ACL replacment march 22.
So much for that V .
