I blew up the scan and got your VIN. Your body was scanned on 6/7/08 and painted on 6/17/08. All the other components show 6/18/08 scan date. These include the engine, transmission, ecm, cluster, air bag module and some others. No body parts listed.

GM uses this data to determine correct parts for 1st and 2nd designs later on. I show it was delivered to a dealer different then where you purchased it from. So it was a dealer trade.

Also we get paid to perform and PDI on new vehicles from GM. But they pay us this money before the vehicle arrives at the dealership. Usually around a week prior. Yours was paid to the original dealer on 6/23/08 (Sunday?). The automated PDI payment is sent when the vehicle build is complete. So your vehicle could have been assembled during 6/17/08 - 6/19/08 but for whatever reason didn't make it to the finish line until 6/23/08. Or this could all be wrong and I am am really a psychopath who likes to misinform HHR owners on their build dates.

This was a trade from Dayton to an Akron Dealer.

Let me find one of the red sheets and I can give you the vin and dates to see how they match up.

I appreciate the help and if we stick to this we will get to the bottom of what this means.

EXP I/T is expiration of intransit (date the it was delivered to a dealer). Nobody here knows what INT COM is. It might mean "I Needed The Car On Monday"!

Here are two others the dealer tried to trade for.

VIN 3GN CA63 XX 8S719872

PRC EFF 6/17/08
INV 6/17/08
Shipped 6/17/08
EXP I/T 6/29/08
INT COM 6/30/08

VIN 3GN CA63 X3 8S713623

PRC EFF 6/09/08
INV 6/09/08
Shipped 6/09/08
EXP I/T 6/24/08
INT COM 6/24/08

I note the dates are closer together than mine. For some reason I has a week delay in my dates. I wonder if there wa sa holiday or could they have used mine for an audit? Would you have any ideas?

I'm with XXL on this one! As cunning as this deception is, I think the abbreviation is not really EXPiration of In-Transit, but the EXPected end of In-Transit. INT COM would then denote In-Transit COMplete, denoting when the dealer actually received the vehicle. Without an ETA, dealers would constantly ask when to expect the vehicle, so there must be some ETA function within their transportation system. However, if this is the case, DLR ETA would be a lot more intuitive... "ETA" (or "DLR") might be reserved for other purposes in the system. Of course, people have been known to make things more complicated than necessary in the interest of job security...
