ADM Upgrades - Check In

Looking to do the ADM Stage 2 tune (yes I've only had the SS for 3 days)

Who here has done this? How do you like it and how are your clutch and trans holding up?

I have. I got the stage 2 and the 3" exhaust from Andy, I've installed the tune and waiting for the exhaust to arrive. You will be very happy with the tune, major difference .

The clutch and trans haven't been a problem. If your on it alot you will be replacing tires, alot. Another thing make sure you have it pointing in the right direction before you nail or you will be all over the road. Ask me how I know

It pulls real hard in 2nd as well as spining the tires at first if you don't roll into the throttle, 3rd gear is the same except the tires don't just break loose they kind of jump up and down a bit. I've seen 25 pounds of boost on the boost gage although I don't know how accurate it is and I've yet to log it with my lap top strapped in the right seat.

Just to give you an idea, the better half was driving my 07 GMC with a 4.8 and we were getting on the freeway and rolling at around 35 -40 and she tried to get around me, I was in forth gear and just stepped on it, she jumped about a half a truck until the boost came up and I easily pulled past her and got out of the throttle but her being stubborn figured come hell or high water she was going to get around me..... I stepped into again, once the boost came up I was looking at her in the side window and she flipped me off... so I let her have her way.

To make a long story short, go for it, Andy is a good person to work. While you will be very happy, your tires won't be. I'll let you know what kind of improvement I see once I change the exhaust.

I have the Stage 2 tune, and I love it. In cool weather I break loose in 2nd when the boost hits, just rolling on the throttle. First is almost useless, so wider, stickier tires are coming soon. The previous poster is correct in that you need to make sure you are going straight and have both hands on the wheel before you get on it below fourth gear. Also, I have gotten some very, very surprising kills from a roll after the tune.Check the racing forum.

Clutch and tranny are fine so far, and I drive hard. After the action I saw last night, I am eagerly awaiting the upcoming intercooler kit from ADM before I decide between and tha Hahn, and hope he comes out with a big turbo kit soon.

Andy's customer service is FLAWLESS. We talk on the phone on an almost daily basis, in some cases just bsing about possibilities. I've got a custom downpipe in the works from him, and he couldn't be any more informative and helpful. He always returns my calls, and handled an issue I had with my Aeroforce guage very well. At this point I consider him just as much a friend as a business associate. I can't say enough.

Awesome guys, glad to hear that.

Andy warned me that my clutch would likely give out after some time...but I don't plan on nailing it from a dead stop very often, more just the roll into it.

I've never owned a FWD car like this before, so I don't know how to change the clutch or whats involved....

Now on my WS6 and GTO...don't ask how many times I've pulled the trans and clutch LOL

It's not the start that's the clutch killer its the fantastic build-up of torque around 3000-3500 RPM. But damn it feels great!

I have a Westers tune with Monster torque and have had to back off boost
a little for clutch life. Clutch problems do NOT happen in lower gears but in
high gear 1st where you do the have the multification factor of gear ratios.

You guys who have not reported clutch problems, try this test: In 5th gear
at 2500 rpm or so, go wot, note boost ( I saw 23-24) and stay in it for
few sec and see if you get slip. I got some. No problems with slip in any
other gears.

Wester has graph on web site showing LNF with race tune has MORE
torque than a LS2 vette motor in the 2500-3000 rpm range.
