Personally, The 'quarter panel' is option AA5, and I would jump on that in a minute and fix the issues as they arise.

Just because you didn't have the air conditioning on, doesn't mean it wasn't running. The compressor will run when set to defrost or heat, also on recirculation.

By the thingy that says Turbo |
And that's where the confusion is. The right side of the vehicle is the passenger side.
The HPFP is under the black charge piping. The silver disc below the front corner of the airbox might be the source. It's part of the high pressure fuel system. But if he truly means the right side, and it sounds to him like the compressor, it may be the compressor. |

A universal way to communicate positions like, flat right rear , means passengers side rear. |
