well last time one of the parts was on back order and they let me cancel that part, i went to the dealer and ordered that part. i just got a email from gmpartsdirect stating they shipped all the rest of my part for my armrest mod. i was happy untill i decided to look at the order status(i wanted to make sure they didnt charge me for the part i canceled) im so mad now, all the parts have shipped but they canceled another part!! it was the freaking arm rest!! it would have been ok if it was one of the spacers or bolts, i could have made something work. but now what am i suppose to do with the rest of the parts with no arm rest. they canceled it because it is on national back oreder. if i known it was going to be this much trouble i would have just skipped this mod for now. i really dont understand why so many HHR parts are on back order?? did GM really think they had made a car that does not break anything?? now im really scared to take my car in for some warranty stuff, my tranny seems to be acting up but i just figured i have planty of time to get it fixed. i guess i need to get her in line for it now it might be a long time to get any parts if needed.. im now starting to know what mightymouse feels like lol.

 

glad to be the poster boy of fail lol!!! i was told on another board(nothing to do with hhr's)that i own a fail machine lol.

 

Welcome to the wonderful world of first-year ownership. I blew a tire a week into owning mine back in '05 and even Firestone couldn't get an exact replacement. It'll take a few months but SPO will get parts from the suppliers.

It really isn't that GM doesn't expect these parts to break, but neither SPO or the suppliers want to build such a huge, unnecessary inventory of parts.

 

It's probably not fair to correlate a backordered armrest with a fear over warranty issues.
