Am I crazy? Wheel removal
So, last night a broke the valve stem...the cap was stripped and stuck so I tried to wrench it off and snapped the stem. Fortunately, it was in my garage.
I've got all lugnuts off and the wheel does not budge. What am I missing?? The manual gives instructions and notes "except SS model". What's the trick?
Need quick help...gotta get it back on the road.

This happened to me. The rim is corroded and stuck onto the wheel hub. If you are lucky, you can beat on it with a rubber mallet and it will break free (try from the front and behind). If that doesn't work, put the lugnuts on loosely, and lower the car. The weight of the car should pop the rim free. In my situation, it took a few times lowering and raising the car to get the wheel free from the rim.
Read about that somewhere here one owner said to loosen the lugs a tad and lower the car on it, roll a little and that should break it loose, another just got a bigger hammer would suggest a blunt blow model try a search there is a thread on it
I'm the one that lowered it and rolled the car back and forth.... that's not gonna fly with a flat tire though...... Just the car's weight should do it...... Having a flat is going to limit how much you can beat on it with a hammer too.

nothing I can spray on it to loosen it, eh?
btw: quick search yielded nothing under "wheel removal". It will now.
You need to spin the wheel as you hit it with the Rubber mallet. Also you hit the rim with the mallet not the tire. Leave at least one lug on a few turns to the wheel does not come off and hit somthing.
Spinning is the key as it moves the entire wheel. If you hit in one spot it will just bind up and not come off.
This is a common issue with aluminum wheels as they react with the metal rust and dirt on the hub.
The deal when you leave the lugs loose and lower it is to move the car and hit the brakes. This twist the wheels on the hub and loosens them.
Note this is not easy with a flat and make sure you have all 5 nuts just a little loose not a lot.
I plan to keep a Rubber mallet in all my cars with aluminum wheels anymore as they will be this way in 6 months again no matter what you do.
I would use the large rubber mallet and keep spinning as you hit the inside of the rim and it will pop. They always have for me and I have done a lot of them.
Make sure to use a jack stand if you are under the car.
