Question Am I wrong? Surging Part 2

So I got the car back from the dealer due to an oil leak and they had to clear a MAF code again. Now I didn't read the code myself but this is twice that they clear a MAF code. How could a MAF sometimes make the car sputter or surge? Not sure what they did but even before I gave them the car, I moved the upper TMAPP sensor wires where they were crimped which it didnt act up that day nor before getting to the dealer "FIGURES RIGHT". So I drove it home which is about 10 miles from the dealer and it didnt surge or sputter yet.

But really, a MAF sensor would that cause that to sometimes cause a sputter or surge and not all the time??

A) If the MAF sensor is not working or sending bad data it would make the computer set the injectors and timing in all kinds of crazy ways.

B) I am beginning to think that everytime a "certified" tech changes or checks the air filter they bugger the MAF sensor up. And I guarantee that the dealer "inspected" your air filter!

Last weekend I changed my filter and cleaned the MAF sensor.....ooops forgot to plug the MAF back in. I think that that is one of the non-self clearing codes, had to disconnect the battery, reset the radio etc. A friend had a "mechanic" at a shop replace his air filter, MAF error! filter was forced in upside down.
